Backlit, Round Entrance Signs in Stainless Steel for Luxury Holiday Homes Complex

Family-run Walnut Barn Estate provides a collection of unique, luxury cottages, glamping and getaways in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for families, parties, dog lovers and couples. They asked us to create a pair of large, backlit, round stainless steel signs for their main entrance driveway using their brand’s logo.

Important considerations included excellence in design and craft skills, ability to design and fit an LED back lighting system, creating a different mounting system for each sign, longevity and reliability, and appearance in keeping with their unique location. They were also keen to find a sign maker who could create their bespoke signs from a sketch and description, and use their brand logo, so our “idea-to-item” custom metalwork service was the perfect match for them.

We based our design and construction on discussions with the customer, and adapted the supplied brand logo to cut well in metal. We recommended laser-cut satin brushed marine grade stainless steel throughout to prevent salt corrosion due to the location, with top quality acrylic diffusers and commercial grade LED systems for the back lighting. Laser cutting the finely brushed silver metal enabled us not only to accommodate the logo detail, offer a low maintenance sign that would last many years, and be fully recyclable at the end of its life, but also provide sympathetic yet eye-catching signs both in daylight and at night. We also created a unique mounting system for each sign, one with hidden studs for mounting on a curved wall and one with custom fabricated stainless steel posts.
